As the Commerce Commission reviews the Fiji Electricity Authority tariffs, the chairman stressed that not everyone will be affected if an increase is granted.
Doctor Mahendra Reddy said that the commission received the submission from FEA last Thursday and will closely study the submission before a decision is made.
Doctor Reddy added that they understand the current situation but will make a fair decision.
The last increase in tariffs was granted in 2004 where domestic customers who used less than 250 units of power or $50 a month, were exempt from the new tariff rates.
Meanwhile, FEA chief executive Hasmukh Patel has refused to make any comments as the decision rests with the commission.
