People who are getting financial assistance under the Poverty Alleviation Program will be getting an increase in housing assistance.
Social Welfare Minister Dr Jiko Luveni said that the program was designed in 1994 to improve the coping capabilities of people eligible for Family Assistance.
She said people are now getting $5000 for housing assistance however it will now increase to $10,000.
Dr Luveni said that the Poverty Alleviation Program Criteria will now be revised after cabinet approved it this week.
