As global oil prices reach record levels, consumers in Fiji will have to dig deeper for diesel and automotive fuels from tomorrow.

The Price and Incomes Board has announced that due to movement in world product market prices for September, the price of Motor Spirit will now cost $1.89 per litre an increase of 6 cents.

Diesel prices, which is currently $1.56 per litre goes up by nine cents to $1.65, Kerosene will cost people $1.37 cents per litre, an increase of 7 cents while Premix Outboard fuel will cost $1.87 cents from tomorrow compared to $1.80 per litre.

PIB said any old stock that is purchased before tomorrow will not reflect the increased prices and consumers should also expect price variations in their areas due to additional cartage paid by traders.
