There has been an increase in the number of typhoid cases recorded in Taveuni.
Health Ministry spokesperson Iliesa Tora confirmed eight people have been isolated in Taveuni who are carrying the disease.
According to Tora, they have identified the area where typhoid cases are coming from and their officials in the north are trying to identify the water source which is unhealthy for drinking.
In the past two months, 28 confirmed cases of typhoid have been reported in Taveuni.
