The increase of the number of HIV cases reported shows that people are getting tested and also that there is an increase in the number of infections.
Fiji Network for HIV Positive Persons President Jokapeci Tuberi said the increase in the number of people with HIV/AIDS being at 294 is a challenge for organizations to increase the awareness on HIV/AIDS.
The Health Ministry said there have been four new cases reported for this year, with the number now being at 294 with 62.5 percent of those who have HIV/AIDS being males while females make up 28.4 percent.
The Health Ministry adds 20 to 29 year old age bracket have the highest number with 134 while there are 87 for those in the 30 to 39 year old bracket.
