The Fiji Police Force is happy as it has been an incident free Easter Friday.

Assistant spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said that from yesterday afternoon into today, they have not received any reports of drunk drivers and this is a result of the people heeding their advice.

According to Sokomuri, the public is realizing that driving under the influence and speeding will only see them spend their Easter weekend in police custody.

However, Sokomuri is pleading with drivers to take into account that the long weekend has just started and it would not be good to ruin anyone’s plans.

According to the police, the main cause for deaths on our roads is through careless driving and drunk driving.
