Having an incentive in place will only hasten ratepayers to pay up all outstanding taxes owed to the municipality.
That is the comment of Labasa Mayor Doctor Pradeep Singh who said the 100% removal of fines placed on those that have not paid their outstanding rates will also help in the betterment of public facilities.
Singh said they are facing numerous difficulties in maintain the facilities in Labasa.
Labasa has been criticized as having one of the dirtiest public toilets in the country.
