More improvement needs to be done in the Civil Service to ensure that there is timely service to the public.
This is the message from the Prime Minister and Minister for Public Service, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to civil servants while launching the Civil Service week in Suva this morning.
Commodore Bainimarama said his recent trips around the country has shown that the civil service is still slow and non responsive.
He also added that reforms are underway and anyone who breaches any law set down will face the full brunt of the law.
The Civil Service week will last for three days and has the theme of Striving for Excellence through Change and reform.
All Government ministries and statutory bodies have their booths at Sukuna Park and members of the public are being asked to come forward with any complaints or queries with regards to any service provided by the civil service.
Similar celebrations are being held in Labasa and Lautoka.
