Interim Minister for Provincial Development Ratu Epeli Nailatikau stressed to senior civil servants the need to improve service delivery to the people in rural areas.
Nailatikau made the comment yesterday while opening the two day workshop attended by Commissioners, Provincial Administrators and District Officers.
He also told them to minimise abuse of office and misuse of government resources.
Ratu Epeli said his permanent secretary had advised him that the ministry has a number of disciplinary cases mainly attributed to official abuse and the lack of understanding, observing and always following administrative and financial procedures.
