A Japanese professor, invited by the Public Service Commission to be the guest speaker at the Service Excellence Award function believes that imposing the retirement age at 55 years is demoralizing for civil servants.
Professor Akira Nakamura from Meiji University spoke about his experience Japan who will also conduct a seminar for Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries and senior managers later today.
He also said government should provide post retirement jobs for retirees.
He said Civil Servants reform should be carried in a proper manner where the best people should get the job with the proper right sizing of government in accordance with the population.
The Public Service Week celebrations continue at Sukuna Park.
