Imports from Aust Totals Millions
This was revealed by Australian Trade Commissioner to Fiji, Dan Williams who said Australia has seen a major demand for the components or even ingredients that Fiji uses to further their export market.
According to Williams, in the last survey conduct in 2006, major Australian exports to Fiji for 2006 - 07 consisted of $10 million Australian for Computer parts, $13 million Australian on Woven synthetic materials, $11 million on woven synthetics and $13 on milk and cream.
Fiji has been ranked as Australia's main export market, however, Williams adds that with the latest opening in the US market for certain Fiji products this standing may be affected.
For the next three weeks a trade promotion will be held whereby two initiatives by the Australian Trade Commission, called the "Real Estate and Resort Business mission" and the other, "See Australia in a Different light," which will start next Monday, will see traders and service providers from Australia promoting their products and services in the country.
