The President of Fiji, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau had this message to the participants at the Bankers Institute Convention with the vision and strategic Direction to 2015.
Ratu Epeli said significant developments have already taken place in the financial sector and a new market based-monetary policy framework has been introduced by the Reserve Bank.
Ratu epeli has called on the banks to implement micro-finance policies to assist the nation.
The President acknowledged the M-Paisa initiative introduced by Vodafone Fiji in partnership with the banks and has urged the Banking Industry to extend their services to the remote areas.
The discussions continue this afternoon.
