Impersonator to know fate at end of the month
In court this afternoon before Magistrate Daweendra Nanayakkara, Singh, representing himself, called his only witness Sharmila Devi, to confirm his alibi that she was with him at the time the alleged incident was supposed to have occurred.
The witness told the court that she did not see a school girl at Epworth House, where the alleged incident is supposed to have taken place as she was with Singh at the time.
However, Singh upon taking the witness stand, confirmed he was with Devi at the time at Epworth House, he did meet a school girl and did question her as to why she was in town when she was supposed to be in school adding that is all he did and then left with Devi.
When questioned by DPP lawyer Kitione Waqavonovono on whether he did indecently assault the Class Eight student, he said no he didn’t.
The case will be called on April 28th for judgement.
