The Immigration Department is currently investigating their recent cases of Human Trafficking with a total of 9 Indian nationals and 4 Chinese nationals for this year.
Director Nemani Vuniwaqa revealed this at the National Anti money laundering conference in Suva earlier this week and said all the cases were reported to the department last month and are currently being investigated by Police.
Vuniwaqa said there may be a large number of people living illegally in the country but they cannot be determined at this stage.
Vuniwaqa added that the department is working with other agencies in combating the issue.
