Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has stressed that he is not hungry for power and did not want the Prime Minister's job.

However, he said the military council wants the country to take the right direction and they believe that politicians will not follow that path if they are appointed to lead the country at this stage.

Commodore Bainimarama said he does not want Fiji to be taken in the direction that Laisenia Qarase chose after he was appointed Interim Prime Minister by the military in 2000.
