The Immigration Department is now liaising with the Fiji Police Force and the Director of Public Prosecutions Office in relation to the illegal immigrants who were arrested following raids at Laucala Beach, Nasole and other areas in Nasinu.
Director Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa told Fijivillage the illegal immigrants are still in Police custody while they are still talking to Police and the DPP.
He had also assured that the illegal immigrants will be deported.
Vuniwaqa added that investigations continue in relation to the allegations that some frontline border control officials may be involved in the human trafficking scheme.
Meanwhile, three local businessmen and an Indian national involved in the scam were earlier charged with eight counts of trafficking in person.
