Police are in the process of completing their investigations
in relation to the $100,000 worth of illegal logging in Seaqaqa.

A Former Minister who is alleged to have been involved in the illegal logging, is under Police investigation

Divisional Crime Officer Northern, ASP Luke Rawalai confirms that Police have managed to interview most of the people involved including the former Minister.

He adds they have interviewed a number of saw mill operators from the North, who are alleged to have been involved with the former Minister.

It is alleged the former Minister obtained a licence under his name and with the help of some business people sold pine loggs from $80 to $100,000.

According to Police, the Minister did not have the powers to obtain a licence under his name.
