The Fiji 15s rugby team will have all their overseas based players available for future International Test matches if the IRB goes ahead with their proposed plans.

The IRB is planning far reaching changes to ensure the strongest sides are picked for Test rugby in the future.

The changes to the IRB's controversial clause 9 will be discussed at its meeting this weekend.

The plans are to start moving rugby into a global season and to end the enduring club versus country debate that constantly rages across the globe.

The net result is that if accepted the Fiji team will in the future be able to choose their best players no matter where they are playing and clubs will not be able to stop players from returning home for test matches.

Fiji Rugby Union's High Performance manager Peter Murphy said the new plans will really help most of the big teams as they have struggled in the past in securing the release of the players.
