The Independent Monitoring Group or IMG has noticed the withdrawal of some members from the National Council for Building a Better Fiji and the refusal of certain major groups to join and this has led to the NCBBF having less representation than initially hoped.

In the first report released by the IMG, it stated that the three members appointed by the President, chairman Geert Van Der Linden, Rev Caroline Amy Chambers and Robin Nair, hope to meet individuals and representatives of the groups that have decided not to join and those that have left the council.

However, the three-member-group was impressed by the quality and seriousness of the discussions that took place at an NCBBF meeting held on April 15th this year.

The IMG report also stated the Technical and Administrative Secretariat, TASS, is handling its many tasks in a professional and effective manner.

The group also stated in its report a good cross-section of the two major races was represented in the NCBBF and that they appeared to represent significant organizations and institutions.
