IDC final called off, no winner declared yet
This comes after Suva’s Waisake Navunigasau scored two minutes away from the end of the second extra spell and the Ba players protested the goal saying that the assistant referee raised his flag for an offside before he put the flag down again as the referee Andrew Achari had awarded the goal.
The Ba players went after the touch judge while some fans ran onto the field and police stepped in to calm the situation.
Police escorted the assistant referee, the referee and the Suva players out of the field.
The game was stopped for about twenty five minutes before Fiji Football President Rajesh Patel made an announcement to the 9000 odd fans that a decision will be made in the next Board of Control meeting.
Meanwhile, police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri also confirmed that the game has been called off.
According to police the Ba fans and players were not happy about the Ba goal being disallowed in the first half which led to the scuffle.
We will have more as more information comes to hand.
