The Fiji Law Society said there is nothing for the interim government to be afraid of as far as the International Bar Association's visit to Fiji is concerned.
President Dor Sami Naidu had raised concerns on recent statements exchanged by the interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and the IBA.
Naidu said the IBA consists of some prominent jurist's and a call to stop them from visiting Fiji will be silly.
He added Sayed-Khaiyum should bring forward concrete evidence that IBA has already pre-judged a lot of matters and had no consultations with him or the Acting Chief Justice about their visit.
Sayed Khaiyum had earlier told Fijviillage that the IBA should follow proper protocol and have consultations with him and the Acting Chief Justice Anthony Gates before visiting Fiji.
He had also called on the IBA to stop treating Fiji like a tin pot country in the South Pacific and respect its sovereignty.
The IBA said it received a letter from Sayed-Khaiyum declaring that the government of Fiji does not welcome or approve the delegation's visit and would take appropriate steps if the IBA attempts to visit Fiji.
