Fabio Capello said that he will not resign as England coach but will discuss his future with the Football Association after his side's World Cup exit.

England were knocked out of the last 16 stage of the competition following a 4 1 defeat to Germany this morning.

Capello said he still has time to decide and he will speak with the Football Association chairman, Sir Dave Richards, before making a final decision.

The Italian signed an amended contract just before the tournament committing himself to the job until the end of Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine and removing a clause which allowed him to leave after the World Cup.

On the match itself, Capello said the referee's failure to give England a second goal when Frank Lampard's shot hit the bar then landed about a foot behind the line was the turning point.

Four teams have already confirmed their places in the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup.

Ghana went through after they beat USA 2-1 and Uruguay defeated South Korea 2-1.

In this morning's matches Argentina are through after they beat Mexico 3-1 and Germany thrashed England 4-1.

In tomorrow morning's playoffs Netherlands meet Slovakia at 2am and Brazil meets Chile at 6:30am.
