I will be back - Nacagilevu
Mitieli Nacagilevu suffered a serious neck injury during the Marist 7s that ruled him out of the Hong Kong 7s.
He is now recovering at the CWM Hospital’s Acute Surgical Ward.
Hopes are high that he will overcome the injury in 6 weeks time.
With the Gold Coast 7s trophy on the table right next to his bed and photos of him representing Nadroga and Fiji on the wall to inspire him to have a speedy recovery, the Sigatoka policeman was in tears today when our Viti FM team visited him.
Viti FM’s Breakfast show host, Maikeli Radua told Nacagilevu that the Viti FM team was there on behalf of the rugby fans of the country.
Nacagilevu said injury is part of sports but the visit has touched his heart.
He said his dream was to play in Hong Kong with his friend, Joeli Lutumailagi but he will now watch the team in action from his hospital bed.
With a smile on his face, he said he hopes Lutumailagi will bring back the Hong Kong 7s trophy.
Viti FM Programs Director and rugby commentator, Malakai Veisamasama said this is a tough time for Nacagilevu and his family and the visit today is to salute a true warrior.
Nacagilevu calls on the people of the country to get behind the team in Hong Kong.
Fiji will take on Scotland at 9:06pm on Friday before tackling France at 5:32pm and Australia at 10:14pm on Saturday.
