Outgoing Finance Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry believes that he has saved Fiji's economy over the last 18 months and it is now time to concentrate on getting the Fiji Labour Party ready for the next elections.
Chaudhry said he, Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi and Tom Ricketts have made a lot of improvements and they are leaving behind a good record in their ministries.
He also believes that general elections can occur this time next year and the FLP now needs to get ready after the assistance provided to the interim administration.
Chaudhry denies that he has pushed the economy downwards as he said the Qarase led government would have collapsed the economy.
Chaudhry, Vayeshnoi and Ricketts are expected to hand in their resignation letters to the Interim PM later today.
Meanwhile, one of the founders of the Fiji Labour Party strongly believes that the Interim Finance Minister should have continued supporting the Interim Regime and seen through what he had started.
Krishna Datt said Mahendra Chaudhry is just taking everyone for a ride.
The National Federation Party said it is a blatant lie that Chaudhry, Lekhram Vayeshnoi and Tom Ricketts have made a lot of improvements in the country's economy.
General Secretary Pramod Rae said these three are not leaving the Interim government because they have achieved something but because they could not achieve anything.
Rae adds the three are leaving because they know that the People's Charter will not do any good to the country.
