"I do not earn $1.7 million and you will find out what my salary is after the registration of the proposed Fiji First."

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama revealed this at the Rotuma Day Celebrations today adding that a political party that distributed a flyer highlighting this did so without fact or proof or evidence.

He said people will also know his salary once he declares his assets and liabilities to the Fiji Elections Office.

He said at the moment he cannot campaign until his proposed party is registered.

Bainimarama however highlights that political parties should campaign on the basis of honesty, sincerity, love and affection and without any pretentions.

Meanwhile, the proposed Fiji First Party submitted 40,083 signatures of members and paid the registration fees of $5,005 to the Supervisor of Elections and Registrar of Political Parties last Monday.

The proposed party will now wait for the registration process to be completed by the 28 day period before starting the planned campaign for the September 17th general election.
