Military Commander Frank Bainimarama said he did not advise President Ratu Josefa Iloilo to abolish the 1997 Constitution.
Bainimarama said although he visited the President to tell him about the Appeals Court ruling on Thursday night, he did not advise him to abrogate the Constitution, and that was a decision that the President arrived at after consulting his advisers.
Bainimarama maintained it was the President's own decision.
Bainimarama said everyone has to wait and see who the President will choose in the next interim government.
The Army Commander has also made it clear that the court process in relation to the Qarase and Bainimarama constitutional case is now over, there will be no appeal as there is no constitution.
However, Bainimarama said he still wants the President's Political Dialogue Forum to start and letters will be written to the UN and Commonwealth on Tuesday to mediate the process.
Commander Bainimarama also confirmed that he advised the President that the electoral reform process should continue.
