Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho stresses that he is overseeing the investigation regarding former Assistant Commissioner of Police Henry Brown.

Qiliho has also confirmed to Fijivillage that some of the people facing charges in the Vilikesa Soko case are also in a task force that investigated Brown.

His comments come as former Commissioner Ben Groenewald told Pacific Beat that Henry Brown fled Fiji after he was sent on leave.

Groenewald also claims that Brown is concerned that some of the people charged in the Soko case, are investigating Brown.

Qiliho says only the courts will decide on the Vilikesa Soko case.

Qiliho stresses that people are innocent until proven guilty.

Groenewald claims in the interview that Brown feared for his life.

Qiliho says he can only say that maybe Groenewald and Brown are now working together.

Brown is currently in Sydney.

He resigned from the force last Wednesday.

Details on the allegations against Henry Brown have not been made public however the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions will make the final decision after the full investigation is completed.

The first phase of the investigation has been completed.

Qiliho says the Office of the DPP has identified sufficient evidence which would have resulted in Brown getting interviewed under caution.

He says Brown will be given the opportunity to be heard during his interrogation.
