I Will Not Give In-Chaudhry
Chaudhry said he is concerned that more than $884,000 in rent was paid last year for the empty office space at Kadavu House.
He said all these tax dollars are down the drain without any return to the taxpayers, the PSC and the interim government.
Chaudhry stresses that after investigations by the Finance Ministry it has been established that the Kadavu Provincial Council does not own the 8 storey Kadavu House.
According to the information available from the Registrar of Companies office, the directors of Kadavu Holdings Limited are Konisi Yabaki, Sakeasi Waqanivavalagi, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo, Jesoni Vitusagavulu and Navitalai Cakacaka. It has also been established that Kadavu Holdings Limited is owned by Kadavu Development Company with 17 listed directors.
Chaudhry reveals that Kadavu Development Company has not filed its annual returns with the Registrar of Companies since 1986 while the latest available return filed by Kadavu Holdings is for the year 2003.
The Interim Attorney General has now been advised to look into the matter and the necessary information has also been forwarded by Chaudhry to FICAC for investigations.
Chairman of the Kadavu Provincial Council, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo who has written to the Interim Prime Minister is expected to comment in the next hour.
