Fiji Times publisher Evan Hannah said he did not breach his work permit after claims by the Interim administration that he had violated the terms and conditions of his status visa through certain articles in the paper.
Hannah says he is not involved in politics and he has no role in the editorial directional content in the newspaper.
He also says he explained his role clearly to the Interim Attorney General that he was not involved in the editorial role
content after being summoned to meet him regarding an article which is alleged to have been written by Suva based lawyer, Grahame Leung which is alleged to have been given by a staff from Fiji Times.
And Immigration Director Commander Viliame Naupoto has said that tt would have been a failure on his part, "but we had to deport him as it was required of us".
He said this after criticism was leveled at the Immigration Department and Interim Government for deporting Fiji Times Publisher, Evan Hannah.
Naupoto explained that the Immigration Department carried out directives.
