Mothers day has turned into a nightmare for a family in Lower Ragg Avenue, Namadi Height after a woman was allegedly murdered inside her home early this morning.

A former journalist is being questioned at the Samabula police station for the alleged murder of his wife at their Ragg Avenue Namadi Heights home early this morning.

Police Media Liaison Officer Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms that the Husband is the prime suspect in the alleged murder and officers are still interrogating him at the Samabula Police station.

Police said there were stab wounds seen on the victim and a knife has been recovered from the crime scene.

It has been confirmed that the deceased was a business woman from the United Kingdom and moved into the house a few weeks ago with her husband and three children.

They confirm that the victims three month old baby, 4 year old and 16 year old son's are now with their relatives.

Residents in the area told Fijivillage news that they heard noises coming from the house at around 1am and the sound of bottles breaking.

They said they then called the police.

Police said at this stage it is believed that the incident occurred after a domestic dispute and no further details could be released as yet.
