The Hurricanes kept their Super Rugby play off hopes alive after defeating the Crusaders 23-22 in Christchurch last night.

In a nail biting contest, the Crusaders had a chance to snatch victory but missed a last minute penalty attempt by Tyler Bleyendaal.

The win means the Hurricanes are now 6th equal on the table with the Queensland Reds on 49 points, and three points behind the Crusaders who are fifth on the table.

In other results Brumbies beat Western Force 28-17, Stormers defeated Lions 27-17 while the Bulls defeated Cheetahs 40-24.
