The Crusaders have lost their second game in Super Rugby.

An outstanding finish and a flurry of late points saw the Hurricanes steal a 29-28 Super Rugby victory over the Crusaders at Westpac Stadium last night.

Crusaders captain Kieran Read said that while they were pleased to have found their attacking game they are disappointed to lose so narrowly to the Hurricanes.

Seven time Super Rugby champions the Crusaders have played two matches and lost both this season having lost to the Blues 34-15 and this week to the Hurricanes.

The Crusaders first try came after an exceptional break by midfielder Ryan Crotty who beat four Hurricanes players to the line.

However their discipline cost them dearly as Hurricanes kicker Beauden Barrett kicked five penalties while Crusaders Dan Carter did not attempt any penalty goals.

In the other game played last night, the Reds defeated the Rebels 23-13.

Meanwhile in tonight's clash, Highlanders will take on the Cheetahs at 6.35pm while the Brumbies will face the Waratahs at 8.40pm.
