The Hurricanes have reignited their season with a cliffhanger 29 26 win over the Chiefs in the Super 15 match in Wellington last night.

After playing 122 matches for the Hurricanes, Tana Umaga played his first against his old side but while his Chiefs were beaten, the former All Blacks skipper got probably the biggest cheer of the night at Westpac Stadium.

Meanwhile, Replacement first five eighth Stephen Brett kicked a 40 metre penalty with time up on the clock to earn the Blues a 22 all draw with the Western Force.

In another match this morning, Lions beat Cheetahs 25-20.
