The Hurricanes picked up another five‑point win despite a tough battle with the Sharks, winning 32-24 in Wellington last night.
Even without the All Blacks trio of TJ Perenara, Beauden Barrett and Julian Savea the Hurricanes had enough talent to put away an improved but far from perfect Sharks side.
Ten wins from 11 matches now mean the Hurricanes are in prime position in the New Zealand Conference.
In another matches defending champions the Waratahs lost 11-18 to the Force, the Lions staged a remarkable second‑half comeback to claim a 28-23 win over the Highlanders while the Stormers edged the Brumbies 25-24.
Looking at the points table, the Hurricanes are leading with 48 points, Stormers are second with 34 while the Brumbies are third with 33 points.
