The Brumbies made light work of the Hurricanes in their Super Rugby opener defeating them 52‑10 in Canberra last night.
It was a dominant display from the hosts that ensured an emphatic win that gives them a perfect start to the season, and they were full value for this victory, outscoring their visitors seven tries to one.
Both sides headed in to this clash amongst the favourites to win the title but the Hurricanes, who finished last year as runners‑up, didn’t look like the side which lit up the tournament in 2015.
While they stayed true to their attacking roots, they found little opportunities to showcase their skills as they were blown away by the intensity of the home side’s onslaught.
Meanwhile, in other matches Blues defeated Highlanders 33-31, while Jaguares had their first win over Cheetahs 34-33.
In today’s match, Sunwolves will take on Lions at 4.15pm, Crusaders will face Chiefs at 6.35pm, Waratahs will meet Reds at 8.40pm and Western Force will take on Rebels at 10.50pm.
