The Hurricanes rugby coach Mark Hammett isn't happy with the refereeing in their latest match which turned into a 41-17 hiding from the Blues.

Hammett said referee Vinnie Munroe got it wrong in sin binning Andrew Hore, which resulted in the Blues putting on 14 points against a depleted Hurricanes side.

But Hammett said they don't want to make excuses and they need to learn quickly from that ahead of the next game with the Melbourne Rebels at 8.40pm this Friday.

Meanwhile, Crusaders take on Sharks at 3am on Monday.
