The Hurricanes have cemented top spot in the New Zealand conference with a 56‑20 victory over the Highlanders in their Super Rugby match last night.
It was an emotionally night after the players found out of the passing of former Hurricanes Jerry Collins shortly before kick‑off.
A minute silence was held and black armbands were worn in respect of the former All Black and his wife who died in a car accident in France.
Speaking after the match, Hurricanes captain Conrad Smith says it was a very tough match to prepare for as they found out just as they were getting on the bus.
He says it rocked them in different ways as he was a hero and a legend.
In another match last night, the Brumbies beat the Force 33-20.
Today the Rebels play the Bulls at 5.30pm, the Blues face the Crusaders at 7.35pm while the Chiefs face the Reds at 9.40pm.
