A special team has been assigned in the West to arrest the remand prisoners who escaped from the Natabua remand centre late yesterday afternoon.
Five prisoners - Paula Namua, Dwyan Hicks, Sitiveni Uluinavunai, Tomasi Cama and Taito Silaicova escaped from the Natabua Prison yesterday afternoon however authorities managed to recapture Taito Silaicova soon after he escaped.
Assistant Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said they have also set up road blocks in their effort to arrest the escapees.
Meanwhile, at around 4am this morning another remand prisoner, Jone Bi escaped from the remand center in Suva.
Police are also calling for information.
