Police are hunting for the 24 year old driver of Tacirua Transport whose bus veered off the road and tumbled 30 metres down a slope in Vuisiga Village in Vunidawa on Sunday afternoon.

Assistant police spokesperson Corporal Suliano Tevita said the driver was recovering at the CWM Hospital and was to be questioned by police in relation to the accident.

However, police found the driver missing from hospital yesterday afternoon.

Earlier yesterday it was revealed by police that the driver was allegedly talking on his mobile phone and speeding when he lost control of the bus.

There were 38 passengers in the bus and one is still admitted in a critical condition at CWM hospital.
