Hundreds of residents from Koronubu, Binai, Rarawai, Korovuto, Vunitogaloa, Qerelevu, Nakavika and Namada have been facing water problems for the last four months.

Residents said they have babies and aged parents to look after, which is very difficult as they have to get water from nearby creeks and other places.

However, the Public Utilities Ministry has assured residents of Ba, who are still without piped water that their problems will be solved later this month.

Spokesperson Sainiana Waqanabete said they had successful talks with landowners in Ba whose land will be used by PWD to lay new water pipes which were damaged during the January floods.

She said their work is expected to start soon.
