Hundreds of Fijians living in Britain today converged at the houses of the two British Army soldiers who died in the line of duty as their bodies arrived in Britain yesterday.

The families who are also part of the Fijian Community in the UK have been gathering at the houses of Corporal Taniela Rogoiruwai and Kingsman Ponipate Tagitaginimoce.

Corporal Rogoiruwai and Kingsman Tagitaginimoce died in separate incidents in Helmand on June 15.

Corporal Rogoiruwai, known as Rocco, was caught in a fire fight with insurgents while patrolling in Northern Nad 'Ali while Kingsman Tagitaginimoce was killed in cross fire with insurgents also in the Nad 'Ali district.

According to Anna Mataika who husband Samisoni is in the British Army based in Catterick Garrison in the United Kingdom said that the Fijian boys and girls in the British Army have been coming to the homes presenting their reguregu to the families of the two fallen soldiers.

Mataika adds that the bodies of the two fallen soldiers arrived yesterday before arrangements are made to fly the bodies over to Fiji for burial.

According to the UK Daily Mail, Fijian friends and family of Corporal Rogoiruwai and Kingsman Tagitaginimoce, sang hymns as the funeral cortege made through Wotton Bassett Town, in Wilkshire.

Town mayor Mary Champion told UK Daily Mail that today was particularly sad and very sombre as there were Fijians singing, their families and friends, in their own language which was very moving. The whole town came to a stand-still.
