There are hundreds of children in the country needing corrective heart surgery.
That is the sentiment of Fiji Children’s Heart Foundation chairman Doctor Poonsami Goundar as the foundation received their third donation from Vodafone ATH Foundation this week.
Dr Goundar said these children without corrective surgery do not have long to live.
So far, since the foundation was set up in 2006, 33 children have undergone surgery and Dr Goundar said each case is a risk worth taking.
This month four small children along with their parents will be flying out to the Frontier Lifeline Hospital in Chennai, India.
