The Fiji Human Rights Commission and its Fiji Human Rights Commissioner have so far not taken any initiative to meet to submit a well balanced report on human rights to the United Nations together.

Fiji Human Rights Commissioner and Fiji Women's Crisis Centre, Shameema Ali says to get together is quite difficult considering the stance the Commission has already taken on events in Fiji since the December 5th military takeover of 2006.

FHRC Director, Dr Shaista Shameem says the latest report to be submitted to the United Nations is to give a balanced report to Ali's February complaint to the UN about the Commission.

Shameem goes on to say that Ali is beginning to embarrass the Commission by constantly harping on about everything under the sun and advises Ali to take a holiday and return in October with a fresh perspective on reality, otherwise she is becoming boringly repetitive - a Commissioner without the back up of a Commission.

Shameem adds that Ali should practice wise restraint at this critical time of the nation's life.
