Government officials with a government vessel carrying emergency food and water, are expected to arrive on Cikobia this morning to help those affected by Hurricane Daman.
This was confirmed by Interim Provincial Development Minister, Ratu Epeli Ganilau who earlier said that initial reports show that cost of damage to the island is huge.
At least 20 houses on Cikobia Island were badly damaged by Hurricane Daman on Friday night and early Sunday morning as Hurricane Daman past over the tiny island.
The villagers are without food and water with a number of families taking shelter in the church and with neighbours.
