The five year development plan from the Housing Authority will focus not only on producing residential lots, but also the construction of one, two and three bedroom units particularly for the middle to low income earners including squatters.

At the workshop on Friday, Housing Authority board member, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo said they will also focus on mixed development which will include residential, commercial and Industrial lots. He said any profits would be ploughed back and to cross-subsidies low income families and squatters.

Nawalowalo adds Housing Authority is now in existents for 50 years and the Government demands that they improve the performance and services at least over the next 5 years.

A total of $189,000 is the cost of the developments for land development and for the building construction.
