The Housing Authority (HA) who said they will now be using government's guarantee as a backup plan in case the $70 million soft loan from the EXIM Bank of China does not come through in time.
Chief Executive Alipate Naiorosui said they may turn to the Reserve Bank for assistance.
Naiorosui said that they are confident that if the EXIM Bank loan is successful, they will be able to meet the loan repayments.
This EXIM loan is to be used for housing development plans for Tacirua and around the country.
