The Chief Executive officer of Housing Authority, Alipate Naiorosui today announced his resignation.

In a press statement from the Authority, Naiorosui said that he had informed the Board last year not to renew his contract.

It is understood that his contract will end in two months time in September.     

Naiorosui said that he wants to spend more time with his family.

He was appointed to CEO in 2003 and has spent a total of 7 years in that post, however he has worked with the Authority for a total of 17 years serving in a number of posts like the General Manager Finance, BOARD Secretary and even as Manager Audit.

Meanwhile, Naiorosui is facing a charge of abuse of office laid by FICAC.

It is alleged that in December 2006, while Naiorosui was employed as the Deputy Chairman for Fiji Ports Corporation Ltd, he approved the payment of $177,000 in early retirement for Herbert Hazelman.

The case will be now be called on 2nd August.
