Hotel operators and outer island regions need to be proactive.

These are the words of Tourism Fiji Chairman Patrick Wong responding to calls made by a hotel operator from Kadavu that prominent campaigns which targets outer islands were really not high.

Wong said Tourism Fiji's core role is to promote "Brand Fiji" internationally and draw the attention of the consumer to the Fiji product adding it is up to the individual properties and regions to draw the consumer to their own market segment.

He adds properties and regions need to be proactive in the tactical campaigns in partnership with airlines, wholesalers and Tourism Fiji.

Wong said each place in Fiji is unique and this is what needs to be showcased to tourists.
