Many families affected by the flood were provided with basic food supplies by the Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji.

Outrigger's general manager Darren Shaw said that 120 families including 580 people were helped with the assistance provided by the Outrigger Enterprises Group in Hawaii.

He said bread, powdered milk, tea, butter, noodles, tinned fish and bottled water are some things people were given and the amount of food the Outrigger is supplying each day will help families concentrate on rebuilding their homes and not worry about where their next meal will come from.

Shaw said that mosquito coils and some personal care items were also provided to these families while the staff of the Outrigger raised close to $1,500 to help the other staff members who have lost their property and possessions.
