Police are calling on the members of the public and the medical authorities to help them find three men who were part of a group of eight who tried to rob a market vendor in his home yesterday morning and were badly injured.

Police Media Officer Atunaisa Sokomuri told Fijivillage that the eight men broke into the house of a 63 year old market vendor in Fulaga Street armed with cane knives, iron rods and pinch bars.

They stole $2000 cash but were confronted by the market vendor and a 52 year old neighbor.

Sokomuri said five of them runaway in a getaway vehicle while the three were allegedly assaulted by the owner and his neighbor. However despite being badly injured they managed to escape on foot with the cash.

Sokomuri said the three would need medical attention and they may visit the hospitals.
